Built with the "Good Life" Mission. Family-owned and Managed.
Josh Huddleston didn't set out to build a resort — he set out to build something real. After years as a public accountant, Josh followed his heart into the travel industry, driven by a simple but powerful belief: that the best moments in life happen when people come together.
That conviction became the foundation of Good Life Resorts, a one-of-a-kind vacation rental hotel nestled just 12 blocks from the heart of downtown San Diego, where groups of every kind — friends, families, corporations, and everyone in between — can gather, celebrate, and truly unwind.Building Good Life Resorts was no small feat.
For three years, Josh was on-site every single day, overseeing construction alongside a dedicated team of contractors and architects, all while raising a newborn at home. He navigated the rare and complex process of converting historic vacation rentals into a fully permitted hotel and resort — preserving the character of buildings dating back to the 1910s and breathing new life into a stunning 1909 church designed by legendary architect Irving Gill. Every memory foam bed, every palm tree, every grain of silica sand on the beach boardwalk was placed with purpose: to create a space that feels both extraordinary and genuinely welcoming. At its core, Good Life Resorts is about more than a place to stay — it's about the way life feels when you're fully present with the people who matter most.
With 34 bedrooms, five unique event spaces, and over 2,000 groups hosted to date, Josh and his team have made it their mission to deliver something the hospitality industry rarely offers: the intimacy of a vacation rental, the amenities of a boutique hotel, and the freedom to celebrate life on your own terms. Because at the end of the day, the good life isn't a destination — it's what happens when great people share great spaces.
